First American appoints new CFO

IBR Staff Writer Published 29 August 2010

First American Financial, a provider of title insurance and settlement services, has appointed Max Valdes as new CFO and Mark Seaton as the new senior vice president of finance.

Valdes has been with the company for around 22 years, and has served as its interim CFO from January 2006 through March 2006 and from April 2008 to January 2009.

Previously, Valdes served as CFO of the First American Title Insurance Company, and then was named to his most recent position as SVP and chief accounting officer for the parent company in 2006.

In his new role, Seaton will lead the company's treasury, finance, investment management and investor relations activities.

Prior to joining First American, Seaton worked for BancBoston Capital, a private equity firm in Boston, and for Robertson Stephens, a San Francisco-based investment banking firm.

First American Financial CEO Dennis Gilmore said that Max and Mark have been key contributors to enhance the company's financial performance and their expertise, both in the industry and in the company, will prove valuable as its continue efforts to further create value for its shareholders.
