Keystone Insurers Group (KIG) has continued its expansion in Kentucky with the addition of five new franchises Hayes-Utley-Hedgspeth, Moore Insurance, Cambridge Insurance, Wooten Insurance and Johnson-Pohlmann companies.
The five firms become part of KIG's network of more than 200 independent insurance agencies, serving clients in six states. The new addition increases KIG’s presence in Kentucky to 11 independent agencies.
Hayes-Utley-Hedgspeth was founded in Louisville in 1954 and is owned by Ken Hayes, Jr. and Glen Hedgspeth; Moore Insurance was founded in Russellville in 1922 and is owned by David Moore; Cambridge Insurance, Lexington was founded in 1966 and its principals are Carson Evans, Joe Browne Nicholson and Paul Ferrella; Wooten Insurance of Scottsville is owned by Jordan Clarke; and Johnson-Pohlmann Insurance, Danville, was founded in 1944 and its principals are Scott Burks, Ray Whitehouse and John Funkhouser.
David Boedker, president of KIG, said: “The enthusiasm being shown for Keystone in the Commonwealth is incredible. We like to think that it is a combination of KIG’s track record and reputation, but it’s just as likely the fact that Keystone allows great independent agencies the opportunity to expand their horizons and realize greater value.”
Keystone Insurers Group was founded in 1983 and is owned by its employees and franchise partners in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. Each partner is an independent agency.
